l write the following words on the board.

l teach any unfamiliar vocabulary, check the students’understanding by having the students ask you, ‘how do you say…in Chinese?

l Now explain that the words on the board represent some items found in a library.

l Examples: T:newspaper.

l tell the students to close their books, tell them you are going to play the tape twice and they have to tell you which library rules they hear.

l Write this rule in the board, please speak English during engish lessons.

l Ask the students where and when they should observe this rule.

l Have the students work in pairs and try to think of additional rules that should be observed during an English lesson, on completion,have each pair read one of their ruses.
