二. 教材内容分析
本单元的话题是“伟大的女性成就”,本课时是本单元的第二课时,内容包括读前(Pre-reading),阅读(Reading)和读后(Post-reading)三个部分。其中阅读部分提供了本单元的主要阅读语篇,篇幅最长,载有本单元话题“伟大的女性”的重要信息,且呈现了本单元的大部分的词汇和主要语法结构,是本单元学习的重点。
三. 本课时的新课标理念
新课标阅读技能测试要点:
1. 理解主旨大意;
2. 寻读具体信息;
3. 理解细节;
4. 根据上下文提供语境推测生词词义,进而加深对文段的理解;
5. 简单的判断和推理;
6. 理解文段的基本逻辑结构;
7. 理解作者的意图和态度;
8. 理解文段的文化信息
本课时我把阅读课文作为整体来处理,运用整体阅读教学法,“任务型”活动和多媒体辅助教学等各种方法组织指导学生理解课文,提高阅读技能,以达到新课标对学生阅读能力的要求。
四. 教学目标设计
1. 知识与技能:
①掌握快速阅读的方法,使学生了解南极地区恶劣的自然环境及 60岁妇女探险家(Helen Thayer)的冒险经历。
②充分利用多媒体技术,培养学生组织语言、运用语言的能力。
2. 过程与方法:
①培养学生筛选局部和整体信息的能力及独立阅读的能力,通过自主学习、协作学习来获取信息和处理信息的能力。
②培养学生的质疑意识,提高学生分析问题和解决问题的能力。
3. 情感价值观:
通过本节课的学习, 激励学生形成“遇到困难不退却、知难而进、独立解决、勇于冒险、探索大自然” 等乐观的人生态度。
五. 教学重点、难点
教学重点:
①对课文内容的整体把握。
②学生组织语言和运用的能力。
教学难点:
学生组织语言和运用语言的能力。
六. 教学方法
①演示法:
把制作的课件、图片等显示给学生看,便于学生对微观知识的把握,并从旧知识中获得启迪,从而达到解决问题的目的。
②任务驱动教学法:
将所要学习的新知识隐含在一个或几个问题之中,学生通过对所提的任务进行分析、讨论,并在老师的指导和帮助下找出解决问题的方法,最后通过任务的完成而实现对所学知识的意义建构。
七. 学习方法
《高中英语新课程标准》明确指出:“高中英语课程要有利于学生优化英语学习方法,使他们通过观察、体验、探究等积极主动的学习方法,充分发挥自己的学习潜能,形成有效的学习策略,提高自主学习的能力。”
根据《高中英语新课程标准》要求,结合我班学生英语基础与能力较弱的实际,本课时我把阅读课文作为整体处理的同时,把每个教学环节所设计的问题和任务区分出高低不同的层次,由浅入深,循序渐进,使每个教学环节尽量符合多数学生的认知水平,力争全班绝大多数同学都能积极参与课堂活动。通过“任务型”活动培养学生 “跳读”、“寻读”、“定位”、“推理归纳”等阅读方法以及描述、讨论等组织语言、运用语言的能力。

导入是阅读教学中不可缺少的部分,恰当的导入课文可以激发学生浓厚的学习兴趣和强烈的求知欲。

略读就是以尽可能快的速度进行阅读。其目的是让学生快速浏览文章,归纳文章或各段落主题和大意。这个教学环节我设计了两个任务活动:
Task1 (任务1)通过浏览文章题目和文章首段尾段找出文章主题。
Task2 (任务2)通过浏览整篇课文找出每段或每个部分的大意。

2.Scanning for details (寻读)
寻读是快速阅读的另外一种方式,它要求教师设计好需要查找的信息和具体的事实。形式可以采用回答问题、正误判断、单项选择、关键词填空等。然后让学生带着问题去快速浏览,从材料中迅速找到这些特定的信息和具体的事实。结合本篇文章,我给学生设计了五个正误判断题,来训练学生快速获取信息的能力。我要求学生独立阅读,寻找这些问题的答案。然后找同学回答问题,核对答案。通过略读学生初步掌握文章整体后,学生再进行寻读,捕捉具体信息细节,加深对文章的理解。

Step 3. Reading for comprehension
阅读理解能力的素质主要体现在两个方面:一是快速阅读,二是准确理解。两者缺一不可。因此,教师应该设计一些帮助学生深刻把握课文要旨(message)的问题。该步骤问题设计我套用了高考对阅读理解的考查方式:正确项和干扰项都不是课文中的原句,但都与课文信息有密切的联系,都能够迫使学生回到课文信息本身,进行分析、归纳、推理、猜测、比较等高级思维活动,即,学生必须非常准确地理解所有的信息才能做出正确的选择。

学生通过阅读获得了信息的输入,而运用所输入的信息来完成某项语言任务是巩固其阅读效果,内化其学习内容,转化其学习能力的必要途径。课堂讨论和复述课文是训练学生运用所输入的信息进行信息加工和信息输出的一个重要环节,采用适当的方法对学生进行复述课文的训练,既能帮助学生深入理解课文,掌握课文的要点,又能提高学生的口头表达能力,同时为提高学生英语书写的能力打下基础。这个教学环节我设计了两个任务活动,一个是讨论活动 ,一个是复述课文活动。
