本课教材为外研社(新标准)(三年级起点)六年级上册Module 2 Unit 1 There’s Chinese dancing. 本单元的话题是描述一个地方的特征。本单元的课文情境是Daming 在给家人发邮件。Simon得知Daming 想家了,提出带Daming去唐人街。Daming 请Simon介绍唐人街的情况,Simon告诉Daming,唐人街有很多中国的商店和餐厅,还有中国的舞狮、舞龙等表演。Daming提出现在就去,Simon告诉他现在太晚了,他们可以明天再去。本单元的学习重点是复习和巩固“there be”句型的一般现在时用法,学习运用这一句型介绍一个地方的特征。

学情分析

1. Look at the picture of Part Two and talk about it.
T: Look! Who are they in the picture?
Ss: Daming and Simon.
T: Where is Daming?
S: He’s in New York. And he’s at Simon’s home.
T: Yes. And what is he dong?
S: He’s sending an e-mail.
T: Right! Daming misses his family. So Simon wants Daming to a place.
2. Watch the video and answer one question.
Where do Daming and Simon want to go?
3. Read the text silently and answer the questions.
(1) What’s in Chinatown?
(2) Can Daming go to Chinatown now? (And why?)
4. Underline the answers by yourselves then talk about them in groups. Then check answers in class.
5. Learn the new words. (sometimes, then, shop, restaurant, Chinese dancing)
6. Look at the pictures and write down the sentences.

7. Conclude the grammar of “there be”.
8. Fill in the blanks with “is” or “are”.
9. Listen to the tape again and repeat.
10. Practise reading the text in groups and try to act it out.
