本课为外研社小学英语教科书四年级(上)第十模块第一单元,该单元通过中英两国的几个小朋友的对话为情景展开话题,通过创设We have a big family dinner.情境引出我国传统节日春节,旨在让学生了解春节的基本情况和主要活动。四年级的学生通过一年多的学习,有了一定的英语基础,学生对该单元将要学习的有关活动、食物以及节日的问候语有了一些知识上的积累。通过本单元学习,让学生能听说读写与春节相关的词汇,并能用”At the Spring Festival,we have...”等句型介绍春节和春节的春节的主要活动,通过学习春节活动,提高学生对传统节日文化的认识。

2. Watch a flash about the Spring Festival with the music of” Happy New Year.”
T:What’s it about? You can say it in Chinese.
T: Yes, it’s about the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival is the Chinese New Year.Today we will learn about the Spring Festival(teach the “Spring Festival,Chinese New Year “two times)
通过观看有关春节的短片听歌曲,为学生创设真实的节日氛围,让学生渐入佳境,并激发学生兴趣。
让学生明白本课学习知识要点,为后面的chant做铺垫。

S1: It’s the Chinese New Year.
S2:At the Spring Festival, we have a big family dinner.
Ss:丰盛。
Read new words one by one in group.

Ss: Yes, I like peanuts./No, I don’t.
Ss:Happy New Year.
Ss: No, they aren’t.
Ss: Because it’s not the Spring Festival now.
(Listen and read together.

T:Daming, Sam and Amy are good friends.One day, Daming has a present for Sam.Let’s see, what is the present? What’s it about?
(Listen and answer the questions: What is the present? What’s it about?
T:Look at the picture 2, in the book you can see people are very happy, they are having fireworks, hanging up lanterns.It’s about the ...( let the boys answer and then girls answer)
And What is the Spring Festival?
What do we do at the Spring Festival?
(Listen and answer the questions:
What is the Spring Festival?
What do we do at the Spring Festival?
(Let two students answer the questions,and check they can read the “Chinese New Year, Spring Festival” or not)
T:Very good ,Sam and Amy understand the questions ,they say” oh , i see.”( nodding the head when say the sentence)
T:Look at the picture 3, we have a big family dinner. can you understand the “big” here? (Teach the new words “family, dinner”
Read them one by one in group.)
T:Look at the picture 4, Look, we
have peanuts and sweets. Teach the new words:peanut.
T: Do you like peanuts?
T:Daming gives the book to Amy and Sam, they say:
T: Look at the picture 5,Are they happy now?
T:Why?
(Listen,read together and imitate the roles’ accent.

说唱chant可以调动学生积极性,对本课一些新知识进行巩固。通过三次播放听力,让学生带着问题去听,这样设计是任务型教学模式的体现,通过问题让学生对新知识有一定的感知,对故事有一定理解。小学生爱表现,通过模仿,跟读,分角色读课文,培养学生大胆说英语习惯,提高语言交际能力,并为学生展示自我提供舞台。

通过再次阅读和提问,帮助学生进一步理解故事。通过活动4的食物图片,让一个学生扮演外国朋友,让学生向外国朋友介绍中国春节,给学生提供真实情景,使学生的知识在实践中得到检验,并让学生了解如何在日常交际中谈论有关春节的话题。
